Description

Monster Lab features the work of Pilsen artists Saul Arellano Jr. and Ian Bennett.

Saul's work deals with objects found in Pilsen then cleaned, reconstructed and painted in "Dia de los Muertes"-themed motifs.  Their almost shrine-like quality juxtaposes bright colors and dark imagery and connects modern Pilsen with its Mexican heritage.

Ian is a local graffiti and plastics artist who focuses on mold-making and repetituous forms with subject matter focused on science fiction and the grotesque. His artwork hangs on the walls of Simone's, and his stencil-form graffiti art is scattered throughout.
